Announcement of ICCR Scholarship for Indian Culture for Academic Session 2022-23
The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India has announced scholarship for international students for study of Indian culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine, etc. under the “ICCR scholarship Scheme for Indian Culture - (A1209)” for academic year 2022-23.
Applications from interested students will be invited online through ICCR’s A2A Scholarship Portal at https://www.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in. The portal will be open for application from 25th January 2022 to 30th April 2022. Key highlights of ICCR scholarship schemes are as follows:-
i. Applicants have the option to apply to 5 Universities/Institutes in the order of their preference of study. List of participating Universities/Institutes can be accessed on A2A portal under ‘Universities’ link.
ii. Applicants are also required to upload duly-filled Physical Fitness Form which can be downloaded from A2A portal under ‘Guidelines’ link. Requisite academic documents and testimonials must also be uploaded.
iii. Applicants must be within the age bracket of 18-30 years at the time of admission in Indian Universities/Institutes. Students under the age of 18 are not permitted by the Indian banking rules to open a savings bank accounts for releasing of scholarship dues.
iv. A 500-word Essay in English has been introduced to ascertain candidate’s English proficiency. Besides, applicants can also submit their TOFEL/IELTS etc. standardised Test scores, if available. Universities may also conduct separate online interviews for applicants, if so required.
v. Admission remains provisional till the time Universities verify the authenticity of original documents.
vi. Once the admission is confirmed by the relevant University in India, the High Commission of India in Nairobi will decide on the award of scholarship to the applicant and issue a letter of award of scholarship. Decision of the Mission in award of scholarship will be final.
vii. Students who have previously not availed ICCR scholarship will be given priority in the award of scholarship.
viii. Selected candidates will be required to procure a mandatory personal medical insurance with minimum sum assured for Indian Rupees Five Lakhs per annum (eqv. to US$6800). Students may procure medical insurance either before travel or immediately on reaching India from any of the insurance companies of their choice. However, to facilitate students, A2A portal has two insurance companies for referral purpose
ix. Scholarship includes one return economy class air-fares to the airport nearest to University/Institute and 3rd AC Train fare to the nearest place of study, if so required. No ticket will be provided for students visiting own country during vacation.

xi. Eligible students are advised to register on A2A portal by creating student account and submit applications latest by 30th April 2022.
